Registrant Rights & Responsibilities

When you register a domain with ns6, ICANN policies protect you. Here's a plain-language summary of what you're entitled to — and what's expected of you.

ns6 registers domains through Dynadot, an ICANN-accredited registrar. The rights below flow from ICANN's Registrant Rights and Responsibilities and apply to every ns6 registration.

Your rights as a registrant

  • Clear pricing and terms. You're entitled to see the price of registration, renewal and transfer, and the terms that apply, before you buy — with no hidden add-ons.
  • Control of your domain. You may manage nameservers, DNS records, contact details, WHOIS privacy and auto-renew, and transfer your domain to another registrar after the 60-day post-registration lock.
  • Renewal and redemption notice. We notify you before a domain expires, and many extensions offer a redemption grace period during which you can recover a lapsed name (registry fees may apply).
  • Privacy of your data. Free WHOIS privacy keeps your personal details off the public record on eligible TLDs, and we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • A fair dispute process. Domain disputes are handled under ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and related transfer-dispute policies.

Your responsibilities

  • Keep your contact details accurate. ICANN requires registrant contact information to be current and correct. A domain can be suspended if a verification request goes unanswered.
  • Renew on time. Renewing before expiration is the surest way to keep a domain. Enable auto-renew to avoid losing a name you care about.
  • Respect the law and others' rights. You agree not to use a domain for unlawful activity or to infringe trademarks or other rights.
  • Secure your account. Protect your login credentials and any transfer authorization (EPP) codes — they control your domain.
